Interact was responsible for the ESA European Space Agency video archive digitizing.
Goal
The European Space Agency is an international agency founded in 1975 responsible for coordinating space projects for 18 European countries. The agency possesses an important audiovisual archive needing to be digitized mainly to enable it to be safeguarded and preserved but also to create a user-friendly access to its contents.
Implementing Video Digitization
The activity of the European Space Agency video digitization was entrusted to Interact who carried out the activities of acquisition, saving and digitizing in its own itvStudio1 productionstudio. Located in the centre of Rome, with two video post production rooms, it offers services comprising video acquisition, editing, motion graphic, encoding, post production and video digitization.
The activity of video digitization involved almost 2000 video tapes located on Digibeta and Betacam SP.
Results
The video digitization activity caused the generation of files in the formats MP4, MPEG2 and thumbnail JPEG and further on DVD supports.
