The Fondazione Cinema Per Roma entrusted Interact with covering the media and the video production of the Roma Fiction Fest 2015 edition. The Foundation wished to offer a daily editorial service for the Website of the performance and press support for this famous festival dedicated to fiction.
Requirements
To ensure that the service was provided efficiently, the purchaser entrusted Interact with the task of covering all the appointments in the daily program of the performance taking place over 5 consecutive days (from 11/11 to 15/11).The following activities were carried out:
- The Red Carpet and Photocall shoots were taken.
- Press Conferences and Masterclasses shoots were all taken.
- The Opening Ceremony, Prize giving Ceremony and Telegatti evening shoots were all taken.
- Multilingual interviews were done with the protagonists by the journalists.
- Daily post-production of the videos of each single event was carried out and the "best of" the day.
- The best clip of RFF2015 was delivered for projection in the hall on the occasion of the Prize Giving Ceremony.
The Festival was hosted in two separate sites: the Cinema Adriano for all the appointments and the Auditorium Conciliazione in Rome for the opening ceremony. Post-production activities were performed at one of the Halls at the Visconti Palace Hotel, near the Adriano Cinema - the operational base of the Press Office and Photographers.
Implementation
During the five-day event, Interact organized the crew (2) and the video personnel to meet the organizational and editorial requirements of the purchaser by co-coordinating the covering of the Red Carpet daily with interviews while the casts were passing through as well as filming interventions in the Hall. By coordinating one producer engaged in video production activities (covering filming) and another one for post-production activities, Interact managed daily and throughout the entire performance, all the production targets requested, delivering all the contents for the Festival Website and the highlights for the Press Office.
Activities were carried out by Broadcast Full Hd Sony camcorders, Sennheiser radio headphones for interviews and Avid composer assembly software. The team was made up of two operators for filming purposes, a journalist for interviews, two producers and an assembler.
Filming was carried entirely out in HD broadcast quality with High Definition (1080p).
The purchaser requested the delivery of the video material in the following different formats:
- Compatible formats: mp4., mov,.m4v, .mpg, .mpeg
- Definition: Web Quality (720p), Low Quality (480p)
The DAM Digital Asset Management solution was used for the daily performance uploading onto the official www.romafictionfest.org site.
The Interact DAM is a system for managing, organizing, filing and updating multimedia files. Through the use of DAM, the press and organization office were able to access all the multimedia contents of the event from remote or from any other location thus optimizing all the operations of file sharing, acceptance and broadcasting.
The film shown in the Hall was instead delivered in ProRes (1080p) format.
Conclusions
The service for covering the media for the event offered by Interact working as a combined effort with the purchaser- the Fondazione Cinema Per Roma - made it possible to complete all the activities requested over the 5 days by facilitating the activities of all the operators in the event and offering users their contents, always updated and of the best quality, on the official site of the Roma Fiction Fest.
